More than just bowls!

Social activities

The club offers a range of social activities in addition to bowling – so why not try some of them out? Proceeds from social activities help to generate much needed additional income for DIBC.

Wednesday is darts night for the club’s ladies darts team and they play in the Darlington District Ladies Darts League. If you are interested in playing in the ladies darts team then contact: Bernie Ruffles 07877681214 or Christine Corrie 07908666641

If you’re into reading there’s a book swap scheme. Choose something new to read from the shelves and drop off any books you no longer want for others to read. We ask for a donation of 20p towards the club’s improvement fund for each book you take.

The Last End Bar

The Last End bar and lounge is open lunchtimes and evenings when the club is open. There’s a pool table and darts board if you like to work up a thirst and on Friday evenings, after the bowling finishes, there’s bingo.

The Cafe on The Green

NEW and open to both members and the public, the cafe is open from 10am Monday to Saturday and serves a wide range of freshly cooked food including breakfast, tasty treats, hot drinks, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and main meals.

Functions in The Blundell Suite

The club can host a range of non-bowls activities from formal and informal meetings to parties, discos and other activities in the bar of the cafe.

The Bowls Club is also available to host events from birthdays through to wedding parties in our recently decorated Blundell Suite which can accommodate up to 100 people.

For more information please contact the club on 01325 485414, or pop in to speak to someone face to face.

If you have suggestions for new social activities that you would like to see in the club them please let Martin or Michael know. They’ll be especially happy if you are willing to get involved in organising events.
